KMAP is dedicated to finding the perfect harmony between raising the necessary funds and having a great time with friends and family. Each event we plan is an opportunity to not only enjoy yourself but give back to our amazing little school. Take a look at some of our yearly events below.

Welcome Back PlaydateAugust

The Welcome Back Playdate in August is a special occasion at KMES. It marks the commencement of a new academic year and fosters camaraderie amongst the students. It's an exciting day of laughter and games, setting the tone for a joyous and stimulating year ahead.

Tea & TissuesFirst Day of School

The Tea & Tissues event follows the first-day drop-off and serves as a heartwarming gathering for new families. As students embark on their first KMES adventure, we understand the mix of emotions parents may feel. We offer comforting tea and tissues to help ease any nerves, and provide a supportive network of fellow parents who share the same experience.

Kings Mountain Art Fair & Cookie SalesSeptember
Labor Day Weekend (and the Saturday before it) is a Big Deal for KMES.  Not only do we sell our famous giant cookies and host a face-painting booth, but also count on a generous grant from the Kings Mountain Art Fair Board. Almost 70% of our income each year comes from this weekend. Learn more…

Voluntary Tuition Drive • October
Our Voluntary Tuition Drive gives families a chance to directly donate to the school in order to cut down on the number of fundraisers we hold. It’s very straightforward: for one week in October, we ask families to give what they can with a suggested donation per student, and the possibility to “Buy Out” of the rest of our fundraisers by donating the total amount that we spend per child each year. Stone Soup Celebration • November

November brings the much-anticipated school-wide Stone Soup Celebration. It's not just an event but a cherished tradition, one that promotes communal spirit and togetherness. We create a heartening, collective feast of Stone Soup, symbolizing the magic that happens when we all contribute and share.

Read-A-Thon • Spring

Students are challenged to log as many reading minutes as possible over a 7-10 day period. They collect pledges from family, neighbors and friends during the event and can earn prizes and school wide celebrations if the school reading goal is met.

Coastside Gives May
An annual day of local giving that supports many non profits organizations on the Coastside. This is a great opportunity to have your donation to KMAP multiplied by donations from local businesses and community partners, with matching funds, prize awards, and social media contents.

End-Of-Year Field Day May / June

As the school year draws to a close in May/June, the excitement is far from over with our End-of-Year Field Day. This event celebrates the end of a successful school year and the anticipation of a well-deserved summer break. The day is filled with fun, outdoor activities, laughter, and a sense of accomplishment shared amongst the entire KMES community.
